2004 "We had stiffer competition this year," says Faith Martin, owner and art director of Longview Studios, so this year's recognition is even more meaningful than last year's awards." It's about time for a change, but it's hard to give up a winning format, so the proposed changes for the next year will just be cosmetic in nature. The basic format will stay the same. One reason we are successful in creating a publication that stands out from the crowd is the creative latitude that we are given. It makes all the difference when clients trust us to do what we do best and listen to our recommendations. A lot of people think Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing are a lot of fun and that we sit around all day and draw pretty pictures. Not true. Most of what we do is strategic-thinking, problem solving and just plain hard work. The gratifying part comes when we are actually allowed to be creative and provide an excellent solution to the communication problem. Here is an example where it really pays off. |
