Logos/Identity start at $500.00 - $2,500.00.
Custom Illustration is outsourced. Starts at $250.00 (b/w ink) for Logos/Identity. An example of custom illustration is if you want a rendering of your dog in the logo.
Projects are based on $60.00 an hour, with a one-half hour minimum.
A half-hour would be something like making changes to the address on a business card providing it's a vector digital file. (That would be the file your graphic designer provided that would go to an outside print shop. Not a WORD file, Publisher file, Excel file or a pixel based file. Those would all have to be re-constructed.)
Generally I quote on a per project basis. If the scope of the project changes; if more items are added you will get a new quote/proposal and contract.
We do a great deal of research. Each project is priced individually, because no two projects are alike. However as a general guideline, 'internally' I figure the project price at the same rate my hairdresser charges me to cut my hair. About $ 1.00 per minute, minimum one-half hour. The difference is, my haircut is only going to last about six weeks at which point I have to go back and pay my hairdresser the same amount to have it done again. A well designed identity system should last you a minimum of ten years (and possibly for the entire life of your business). A well designed, well written printed brochure will last until you need to change the information and even then you could opt to simply include an insert thus saving the cost of a whole new brochure. Or you may decide on a small envelop size folder that you can up-date with new information and not have to do a new brochure for years. There are usually ways of making your project as cost effective as possible.
How we work
- Meeting to discuss project- I'll provide a folder with a Creative Brief form and a sample design agreement for you to look over at your convenience. Please look at my online portfolio page for examples of my style.
- Proposal- I'll send you a Proposal outlining the project as I understand it and an estimate.
- Acceptance (or changes) of the Proposal- a design agreement will be forwarded to you to be completed and returned with either 1/2 deposit or 1/3 deposit, depending on the project estimate.
- Upon receipt of the deposit, work will begin.
- If this is a logo/identity project you will receive several initial rough ideas and my recommendations. The selected layout will be refined to the finished mark.
- Upon completion of project, final payment is due and files will be delivered. Two CD's with your final files for your print project will be provided. Always handy in the event one is lost or damaged.
- Please note: I don't normally do websites (except my own). Coding/programming is difficult, technical work, which is not my forte'. I found this interesting link to what agencies look for in a web designer. It's pretty extensive. The Employable Web Designer
